So the boy in my previous photo has a sister, Faith, in pre-primary class who LOVES school. After fetching water from the river, she does her homework in the dying light of the day before she helps her mom with supper.
Their dad is a struggling farmer looking to improve his yields through agroforestry.
I pray she becomes my president, someday. #XperiaP #Xperia_nceKenya #EnigmaImages #Snapseed #Sony_Xperia
This looks like a sad story but it isn’t.
As much as it saddens me that many Africans have little or no access to safe drinking water, I met this fella and his sister at a river. I was with my fixer going to meet their dad. I took his sister’s 5 litre tank and offered to carry his but he proudly said ‘No! I can do it.’ and I was humbled.
One does not need to have much to be proud of what they can do. How much more, me, who has access to more!?

I am currently in the field with Vi Agroforestry, @viskogen, who are helping transform the African farmer through better practises through agroforestry. I am really loving this shoot and learning alot by seeing how succesful farmers who are attached to them, have become. Trees are truly life changing.
